Dear Believing and Doing,

The book of James warns us about having a demon’s faith or a dead faith. Both miss the dynamic tension of duck taping faith and works together. Paul said the same thing in Ephesians. We’re saved by grace through faith in order to do the good works the Lord created us for. We have an opportunity this Saturday to keep the believing and doing on the same page. A woman who has been attending Trinity over these past weeks needs help. She has to move from Newport to Claremont, NH. She doesn’t have any help and very little means.

Can we do this good work for Nan and her 3 young children? I am suggesting YES! Here’s the plan:

  • One team meets at Nan’s house at 12 Elaine Street, Newport, NH at 10am to load a U-Haul truck.
  • Another team meets at 7 Green Street Apt. #1 in Claremont at 12:30pm to unload.
  • Rebecca Roisman will be serving muffins and coffee in Newport, and sandwiches and drinks in Claremont
  • Nan will be leaving some things behind that may be taken: kitchen table, roof rake, limb cutter, chain saw, butcher block table, bakers rack, fireplace tools and other things.

If anyone wants to meet at the church at 9:15am we could car pool over together. Please let me know if you are planning to come. Thanks. Please also pray that these good works would be a blessing to Nan and her family. Thanks.

Annual Business Meeting – Please plan on attending this important congregational meeting next Monday, February 6th in Fellowship Hall. Homemade soup, bread and dessert will be served at 6pm, while the Business Meeting will begin at 7pm. We will be celebrating God’s faithfulness in 2011, accepting new members into the Body, electing the new MLT officers by ballot and approving the budget. Your participation as a member is essential. Please set aside this time and come. BABYSITTING will be provided!

Making Jesus Christ supreme in all things and for all peoples.
